Client: Blue Goldstone Ltd | Accel Consulting Ltd
Project: Goldstone Apartments
Material: Decorative fencing, seating and surface design
Date: Current
The artistic component for Goldstone Apartments is influenced by the history of the site and in particular, the work of local farmer, entrepreneur and investor in the community J J Clark, who ran one of the UK’s most successful market gardens and bakery on the site of the new development.
The primary themes that will influence the designs are Farmland, Market Garden and Bakery.
They will provide an opportunity to tell the story of the site by referencing the memory of its past uses through surface design and decoration.
The secondary themes used as inspiration are The Goldstone / Druidic circles and The Brighton & Hove Albion Ground which was adjacent to the site. These themes will provide a more subtle influence by informing the shape and layout of the seating within the public green space.
